You know what we don’t see enough of on the red carpet? Pattern. Most people go for solids or sparkles, and relatively few choose a truly beautiful print. Hopefully other starlets will be inspired by True Blood star Rutina Wesley’s Douglas Arnette gown.
The dress was hand-painted with a black and white pattern for the actress, and she chose to use the dress’s high slit to her best advantage, proudly showing off her long legs and a pair of totally hot Christian Louboutin platforms under her dress. The pictures of the ensemble don’t look as nice as it seemed on camera, and it’s hard to get an idea of the pattern’s scope, but it’s a direction that I wish more red carpet trotters would explore. When everyone’s choosing solids, there’s no better way to stand out.
